Simple Switcher Selection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMZ22008

We have the following requirement:

VIN=12V

VOUT=5V

IOUT=6A

EN55022 Class B Certified,PLL Frequency Synchronisation,

Parallel/Current Sharing,Upto 93% efficiency.

Whether any device from Simple Switcher family or any other device will be suitable for this application?

Please advise.

  • Hi  Ipsit,

    The LMZ22008 would be the best product for this application. It can do 6V to 20V input, 0.8V to 5.5V output, and up to 8A of output current.

    For the 12V --> 5V conversion at 6A, this is 92.8% efficient.  (You can run a WEBENCH design with you exact input/output requirements to see the efficiency and run other electrical and thermal simulations.)

    It also has the EMI certification, current sharing, and frequency synch capability that you are looking for.

    Regards,

    Colleen
