I am writing to ask you the following problem which is I have some doubts about bq2019.  This IC is used in a battery charger model: Pro3600 Make: Linvatec.

 

This IC is used as a battery monitor in the above mentioned charger for a single cell. I have made sure that this IC is bad by swapping it from another good charger.

 

Therefore, I ordered this IC (5 pieces) through a local spares leader and I received through R.S. spares the following replacement (bq2019PWG4, instead of bq2019 which was used in the charger. When I replaced this IC, it does not work.

 

Please, let me know what the difference between bq2019 and bq2019PWG4 is. The circuit diagram mentioned in page 7 of bq2019 (application information) except the changes with I have shown in the file attached. Please let me know whether any circuit change has to be done for using bq2019xxx.

 

Also I wish to know whether this IC has to be reprogrammed, if yes, how it can be done? Inside the charger; or it is there any circuit for programming it.

    What is your indication that the chip does not work? Is there no valid communication to it?

    The bq2019PWG4 is simply the orderable part number for the device. Bq2019 is only the simplified name to refer to device.

    The charger indicates that batery is wrong (wrong battery led is light) but the battery is good because in another chager the batery can be charged. I don´t know final letter in the original bq2019 which is wrong. I know final letter in the new bq2019 becuase RS told me.it is given in specifications that 4 different version of this bq2019.Are there any difference among them?
