Questions: Using LM10010+LM21215A to Power C6678 SmartReflex Power

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS56121, LM10010, LM21215A

Dear Sir/Madam

We have a question about C6678 SmartReflex Power.

On TI's website, we found two solutions for conventional DC-DC power C6678

One is LM10010+TPS56121(PMP7256 Circuit, Does not have SYNC pin)

The other is LM10010+LM21215A (In lm10010 datasheet,snvs717b.pdf page 9, does have SYNC pin)

In our design, we need SYNC pin to implement Spread Spectrum.

So do you have any suggestions about LM10010+LM21215A ?

And if you have any Ti official Schematic&BOM for using LM10010+LM21215A power C6678 DSP, can you please send it to me?

You know, we have to ensure that the total of the DC error and the AC ripple does not exceed the +/-5% tolerance required by the C6678.

Thank you!

Regards,

Jin HAO

  • Does anyone has any idea and recommendations about my questions?

    Any inputs will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • Jin,

If you go to the website and look up the LM10010, you'll find that an evaluation board exists for the LM10010 and LM21215A-1 combination. If you get this board, you'll be able to test how the output voltage can be controlled.

In the LM10010 product folder, you'll be able to find an application note describing the board and how it is put together. Also in the product folder is an error calculator showing potential sources of error and how they contribute to the overall error of the combination.
