LM3880

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3880

I would like to use the LM3880 to sequence the enables on three linear regulators.

The LM3880 and the linear regulators would need to be powered off the same voltage rail (+5V) with the enables pulled up to that rail.

I am concerned that the linear regulators might turn on before the LM3880 has a chance to pull their enables low.

Does the LM3880 have provisions to prevent this from happening? Thanks!

  • As shown in the first figure in page 6 in the LM3880 datasheet, the FLAG voltages will be pulled low when VCC exceeds 0.8V approx. The flag voltage reaches 0.65V approx before true pulldown begins. Thus, assuming the LDO enable threshold is above this, the LDOs should not turn on.
