inverting simple switcher. 12V to -24V

Hi there,

I would like to use a simple switcher to make a -24V supply from a +12V supply.

I previously learned that it may be possible to copy the design using a 36V input and a 24V output, then switch the output for GND and GND for -24V.

I have a circuit which works with an input of 36V to produce an output of 24V, however when I switch the Vout and GND to generate -24V on the bottom rail, it fails.

I have attached my 36V to 24V circuit ... any help appreciated.

Matt
