BQ24765 dead time

Hello,

we are using SMBus controlled battery charger BQ24765 in a BMS + Charger PCB of our design.
BQ24765 is an integrated power mosfets, NMOS-NMOS, synchronous buck converter. 

When we measure with the scope the voltage on the PHASE node we are seeing that, during the Toff time, the bottom FET turns off too early. The FET's body diode conducts for about 250ns while the device data sheet specifies a dead time of about 25ns.

Any idea why I'm getting such a long dead time? The device data sheet says the dead time is "adaptive" but doesn't say more.
