Hello

I would like to ask about the Maximum junction temperature of the TPS74801 LDO.

The Absolute Maximum Ratings Table on the page nr 2 specifies the Max. Operating Tj to be 150degC while the electrical characteristics table on the page nr 3 specifies the Max. Operating Tj to be 125degC. Could you please specify why does this difference occurs and which temperature is correct ?

I was also considering some other 1.5A regulators like the TPS74201 and the Max. Operating Tj for this part is specified as : 125degC on both page 2 and 3.

I would appraciate your help and explenation.

Hi Pawel,

Thank you for catching this typo on the datasheet. To clarify, the maximum junction temperature when the IC becomes damaged is 150 degC while the maximum operating temperature for the device to stay within the specifications on the electrical characteristics table is 125 degC.

By clicking on "Submit Documentation Feedback" at the bottom of the datasheet pages, this clarifation can be sent to the appropriate TI associates for changes.
