Hello,

I'm having some trouble with a tps2113a. I've connected it as shown in Figure 14 in the datasheet.

IN2 is not connected at the moment, but IN1 is connected to 4.9V.

With my setup the switch should let IN1 go through.

I checked that VSNS is above 0.8V also even though this shouldn't have anything to say.

Stat should have been 0V, but is ~0.6V ??

and OUT is ~1.6V.

The load is a TPS63001 supplying the PCB.

How much input current is being used in this condition? What is the ILIM resistor value on your board (it could be that the switch is in current limit due to overload)?

Righ now I don't remember exactly, but I think the power supply was giving about 2-300 mA at 7-10V.

I'm using 680ohm.

When I use the board with a supply on the 3.3V side it uses 100 to 200 mA.

TPS2113A is only rated up to 6V ABS MAX. Operating at 7-10V will damage the device. A 680 ohm resistor yields a ~700mA current limit. Try unloading the OUT before you apply < 5.5V to IN1 and see what happens. If the dc/dc soft start is not set low enough, you might put the TPS2113A into current limit during start up.

The external supply is 7-10. The voltage the TPS2113A gets is 4.9.

I'll try to unload it then.

I unloaded it and it now outputs 4.9V. The stat pin is still 0.7V though and the IN2 pin is 0.5V (not connected).

I found out that I possibly have a malfunctioning TPS63001. If the input is ~2.6V the board uses 300mA, when the input is 5V it uses 200mA but if the input s 3.3V it uses way over 600mA..?
