My company is considering use of the BQ27520-G4 Fuel gauge, and we had planned to buy the BQ27520EVM to evaluate the part.
My confusion is that there are four iterations of the BQ27520 part: G1, G2, G3, and G4. Of these, the -G1 and -G2 are no longer recommended for new designs. The G4 part which we want to use is a fairly new addition. The BQ27520EVM indicates only that it has a BQ27520 on board and does not mention which iteration of the BQ27520 it is.
Given that we have the BQ27520-G4 .senc file (from BQ27520-G4 product page), can we re-program firmware in the EVM fuel gauge to the -G4 version - or would we need to replace the EVM fuel gauge with a BQ27520-G4 chip?
