bq2004 setting up the circuit

I am designing bq2004 charging circuit and I have the following issues:

i would like to use three 9V batteries

i want to apply 0.25 to 0.5 A

how to set up the TM1 and TM2

how can i determine the charging rate

i want to have the batteries to be listed to work with fast charging ability

also how can i chose which mode to use Thank you in advance

Hello Hansan,

For your design you will need to download the data sheet BQ2004. http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq2004.pdf

1. For setting your current, the resistor value iplaced on the SNS pin s based on the calculation for charge current control on page 6.

2. Setup of TM1/2 is also on page 6

3. Your choice of TM1/2 determines the charging rate.

4. Fast charging will only take place after the battery has reached a nominal temperature and voltage state.

5. For selecting the different modes found on page 4, you will have to set the DSEL pin to the appropriate level as found on page 7
