Fullbridge converter build using LM5035B

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5035B, LM5100A, LM5035, LM5045

Hi,

I would like to make full bridge converter using LM5035B, is it possible to make it by simply using 2 separate gate driver like LM5100A for primary side and LM5112A driver for secondary?

Any concerns for this build or do you have references/ any recommendation schematic including transformer design?

Here is the power specs for your reference.

Vin 36~75V

Fsw 200kHz

Vo 12V

Iout ~30A

Thanks in advance.

  • HelloDonghwan,

Have you considered the LM3045 and LM3046?  They both offer full bridge control.

    Thanks,

  • Yes,  we don't have a reference design to share with you but LM5035 can be used in a full bridge configuration as you described.   The LM5045/46 simplified the full bridge implementation by integrating all gate drivers into a single chip.

A note on control mode difference:  the LM5035 can only be used in voltage mode control, while the LM5045/46 can be made either voltage mode or current mode. Please refer to the relative datasheets for details.

    Thanks,
