UCD9224 with CSD96370Q5M

Hello,

I am planning a design based on the UCD9224 controller along with the CSD96370Q5M NexFET power stage, similar to PMP6000.1 although with one rail and 4 phases vs 2 rails and 2 phases each.

I am attempting to use the Fusion Digital Power Designer to build the circuit, but there is no option for these parts. My guess is that I would select the discrete mode and create a custom driver, and I would like a little guidance on this.

Alternately, if you could provide the project files for the PMP6000.1 design, that would be a huge benefit to me.

  • Not to push you in another direction but have you looked at the UCD74120 PowerStage device (driver and NexFets), this was released after the PMP6000 design was completed using the CSD96370Q5M.  The UCD74120 are also 25A devices but were designed specifically to interface with the UCD92xx controllers, they also have an integrated current sense amp which would eliminate the complexility of having the discrete INA213 device. It would produce a smaller solution as well.

    If you would still like to have the other documentation just respond to this post and I'll look into it for you.

    I'll also look at the broken links you mention and see if these can be updated/fixed.

    I did look at the UCD74120 and it looks like a nice device, but it's also four times the price of the CSD96370. Are there reference designs available for it?

    I was wondering if you've had a chance to look into that documentation. I have a couple test boards coming in the next few days and while I can probably get them up and running, it would be great to have a Fusion Designer project or at least the PMBus parameters used so I don't have to calculate and then tweak them.
