TPS40190 Soft Start time issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40190

Our customer want to get a more accurate range at same production lot and test condition.

Could you help check, if in same production lot and same test condition(temperature and external components), should it have the similar soft-start time? How about the range?

For different output, how about the start-point and the stable time?

We have tested some parts, and it looks the soft start time should be similar for same production lots in same test condition.

  • JW Wu,

The Soft-Start on the TPS40190 controller is established by an internal DAC using a digital counter from the switching frequency.  While devices from the same lot operating at the same input voltage and temperature will generally show a tighter distribution than the datasheet specification, TI will not ensure this.

The soft-start feature of the TPS40190 ramps the non-inverting input to the error amplifier and should be independant of the programmed output voltage.
