LM3431 DLY pin

Hello,
Can we short DLY pin to GND?
Our customer would like to connect DLY to GND due to  Led don't short and open in their system.
Are there any concern on this connection?

    Hello Ryuji,

     

    Looking through the desciption of the operation of this pin by connecting it to ground will nullify a number of the safety features of this device.

     

    I recommend looking through page 22 of the datasheet to see how having this pin shorted to ground will influence the safety features. It does say that by grounding this pin that type two shutdown features can be disabled suggesting that this is an optional configuration for this device.
