Hi,

I'm looking to design a DCDC for APD biasing. DCDC requirement as following:

Vout = 35V

Vin = 3.3+/-5%

Iload = Max 20mA

Key concerning area: Smallest PCBA solution and efficiency at least >85%

I've look into below parts: LM3530, TPS61161A and TPS61165. Can i know which is the smallest PCBA solution? Is there any recommendation on PCBA layout?

Thanks for your reply. Can you advise where can i download free Gerber viewer to open TPS61165EVM Gerber file?

There are some geber tools on website,you can serch with google.

The EVM UG also gives picture of each pcb layer..so ,you can read the layout also through the UG

Kwan,

I would suggest the TPS61170 for APD bias. The LM3530, TPS61161A and TPS61165 are LED drivers. Please refer to the PCB layout recommendation on the page 18 of the datasheet.

Hi Gavin,

Thanks for your recommendation, i'm a bit concern on the efficiency with 3.3Vin and load current ranging from 10mA to 20mA. It's ard 70+%. Using TPS61161A will have better efficiency? Can i assume all 3 parts TPS61161A/65/70 PCB footprint does not vary much?
