uc3708 dual non inverting driver

Is it possible to apply a voltage bigger than 5.6V to the ENABLE input?

The absolute maximum rating indicated in the datasheet is 5.6V, but the equivalent electrical input circuit shows two decoupling diodes that should allow bigger voltages to be applied.

If I apply a 9V input voltage can I damage the device? The supply voltage is around 25V.
