LM3406 datasheet page 4: Electrical characteristics > Internal regulator > Vcc-lim. The parameter is Vcc current limit; the test conditions are Vin=24V, Vcc=0V. Min is 4mA, typ is 20mA. The test conditions of Vcc=0V implies that this is the short circuit state.
Question: How much current can be drawn from the Vcc pin without impairing LM3406 operation? Assume Vin=24V and the device is well heatsinked.
At Vcc-reg, the test condition (0mA < Icc < 5mA) suggests the true limit but this doesn't appear to be confirmed elsewhere in the datasheet.
