bq500211a-evm communication

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51013A

Hi

How to make bq500211a-evm  transfer power to any qi receiver? Now, I put qi receiver on bq500211a-evm and it is not transfer power to qi receiver.  What should I do? I should setting or config bq500211a-evm or not.

What are the signals from receiver to transmitter that will make bq500211a-evm work?

Thank.

  • 1Q.) How to make bq500211a-evm  transfer power to any qi receiver?

1A.) It will transfer power to RX when placed on TX pad automatically.

2Q.) Now, I put qi receiver on bq500211a-evm and it is not transfer power to qi receiver.  What should I do?

2A.) What Receiver are you using?  Where in the start up / power transfer sequence is it failing?

3Q.) I should setting or config bq500211a-evm or not.

3A.) Config will not be an issue, unit is shipped in a working configuration.

4Q.) What are the signals from receiver to transmitter that will make bq500211a-evm work?

4A.) Look at TP12 on the RX EVM (V-Rect) see bq51013A EVM UG figure 6.

1.)   First thing to check is if voltage is greater than 2.7V, UVLO

2.)  Do you see the first three packets, bumps on V-Rect.  They are Signal Strength, ID and Configuration.

3.)  Next phase is Power Transfer where the RX will tune the TX operating point to ~7.5V

4.)  Final point is where RX turns on the output voltage, TX is now at the operating point RX wants.
