TPS63030 UVLO Hysteresis

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63030

The TPS63030 datasheet specifies the UVLO threshold between 1.4 and 1.6V.  The minimum startup voltage is specified as 1.6 - 1.9V.

Is there any guaranteed or expected hysteresis on the UVLO?

I am concerned that the UVLO will cause a hiccup as the battery voltage rises after the converter shuts off due to a UVLO event.

  • Hi Ed,

the expected hysteresis is specified on page 3, control stage. It is typically 300mV. There is spread in the  thresholds however. This is way there are voltage windows specified.

The falling threshold will definitely be below the rising, which prevents your application from an issue like that.

  • Florian,

Thanks for the reply.  On page 3, it shows a typical hysteresis of 300mV, but the max. UVLO is equal to min. startup voltage.  I just wanted to confirm that the design would not allow a max UVLO of 1.6V and a min startup voltage of 1.6V simultaneously.
