Inquiry regarding used capacitance around LM2682

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2682

Hello, all

Now we have one inquiry regarding the used capacitance around LM2682 from our customer.

Please refer to the item below, and feedback us with your comment.

When referring Typical Operating Circuit on datasheet page 1, 3.3uF capacitance is suggested to use between C1+ and C1-, and between C2+ and C1-.

Please let us clarify whether we could use less capacitance on each channels.

If we could not, please let us know what kind of influence could be caused.

For your reference, we are considering to use this device on following conditions;

Vin=3V

Vout=-6V

Iout=50mA(MAX)

We thank you in advance for your information.

Best regards,

  • Hi,

    The only effect of using lower capacitance values is the output impedance of the device. Output impedance is proportional to 1/fc, so the smaller the capacitance the higher the impedance (please refer to equations on page 6 of the datasheet). This would result in lower output voltage.
