LM3017 with high capacitive load

Hi E2E,

we are investigating the LM3017 for a 5V2 to 22V boost converter for external sensor supply.

Output current shall be limited to max 200 mA.

We are using the LM3017 evaluation board an modified the Rsen resistor and the inductor.

But we have a problem to drive capacitive load in the order of 1000 uF. The controller goes into a SC latch-off state, and needs a "reset" via the EN/MODE pin.

Does any one know an easy way to charge these large load capacitor, and in the same way limit the output and short circuit current ?

In the LM3017 the softstart timing periods are fixed, although we could accept a much longer start-up timing.
