TPS54618-Q1 Stability Question - 5.0A to 10mA or 10mA to 5.0A Load Transient

If designed to supply 5.0A continuous but there are situations where the load can go down to the 10mA range what if anything needs to be considered to remain stable during the load transient for this device?

Hi Marc -

TPS54618Q is a CCM device. High side and low-side FET will run complementary regardless of the output current.

Because it's a CCM device, the comp-duty cycle transfer function doesn't change much with loading. the control loop changes only very slightly over loading conditions - so slightly that most design tools only design the loop compensation at full load anyway. My suggestion would be to use the pspice averaged model to simulate at both loading conditions, but there is no special consideration that you need to take into account to design with TPS54618Q for 0-6A.
