TI refer the usage of TPS62730 in companion with CC430 is to reduce power consumption when CC430 is in the sleep state. By using ordinary step down converter (no bypass mode), the step down converter itself will continuously consume battery power, probably bigger than CC430 power consumption during the sleep mode. Can we have the same advantage (bypass mode) using TPS80010? The reason we consider TPS80010 is primarily because they have battery management functionality.
