bq24314C / NC pin

Hi Team,

My customer is concerned about device operation at pin to pin short condition about NC pin.
He would like to know the dvice operation when NC pin(3) is shorted with VSS pin(2) or #FAULT pin(4).
Could you tell me the operation?

    Using the EVM with 1 IC at room temperature, I connected the NC pin to VSS and /FAULT and noticed no change in the normal opeartion of the input overcurrent protection, input over voltage protection or battery over voltage protection. I still recommend following the datasheet which states not to connect the NC to any other external connection.

    Thank you for your comment.

    I was asked an additional question from my customer.
    Could you tell me the value of internal pull-down resistor of #CE?
    He concerned about the case that #CE pin(5) is shorted with VBAT pin(6).
    *VBAT pin is connected to external pull-down resistor(100kΩ) for his board.

    Using the I(IH) spec in the datasheet, with V(/CE) = 1.8V, input current into /CE is 15uA max so the minimum pull down resistor is 1.8V/15uA = 120kohm.
