Hi,

We want to use PMP7355 Reference Design for low cost and small size.

We want to operate this EVM at 4.2V so we change the value of R24. 18.51 kohm will be selected.

Can we operate this EVM at 11W output in this situation ?

The other question is ; Is there any other reference design for low cost and small size?

The 5V efficiency at 2A is ~84% and will be lower at 4.2V. The maximum output power will be somewhere between 10-11W to stay within the 13W input limit (which is the IEEE spec for the PD). If the product does not have to meet the 13W max, then the converter can achieve 11W. Since the output rectifier RMS current wil be higher, make sure to monitor the output rectifer temperature to ensure it does not overheat.

PMP7355 is the best reference for small size and low cost.

Can we operate 4.2V at 2.38 A without issue ?(no overheat)
Is it enough that R24 is only changed to 18.51 kohm ? Will we make the other modification ?

POE13P-50L is rated for 2.6A so it should be OK. The thermals of the design will depend on your PCB, layout, and operating ambient temperature among other things. You can evaluate this using a thermal camera once your design is built up.
R22 on PMP7355 should also be reduced to keep the opto LED biased properly (maybe 511 ohms or so).
