TPS62361B / Vout overshoot at startup

Hi All,

Our customer found the Vout overshoot at startup as attached. Can we reduce this behavior at 0.96V as default setting though the similar waveform can be seen in datasheet?

  • In most processor core application which use DVS, a small startup overshoot is certainly accepted by the load. In many cases, this output voltage will be increased further once the device starts in order to tune the operating point of the processor. Is your application different; can it not accept a higher voltage?

There are two possibilities: program a slower ramp rate in the IC or set the target voltage to a lower value and then increase it once startup is complete.
