I need some help selecting the right battery charger. I am attempting to charge a single cell Li ion battery with a 400 mAh capacity that I found online that includes built in over voltage, over current, and under voltage protection. I have been looking around the TI webstore trying to find a suitable battery charger and have found two possible solutions:
BQ25101 (http://www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?genericPartNumber=bq25101h&fileType=pdf
if the battery already has built in
protection. The BQ25101 is a linear charger and is much simpler to use but will need an LDO to accompany the battery charger to ensure that the voltage stays at
an acceptable voltage level. The BQ24278 has a built in switching LDO which is also a nice feature, i'm just not sure if I need to spend the extra time configuring it
if the BQ25101 will essentially do the same thing but not waste time on overly protecting the battery if it isn't necessary.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
