I am using the bq2060 gas gauge ic to interface with 4 lithium cell batteries. lately i have been receiving failed batteries from the field. the failure mode is when the system reads the battery capacity, the response back from this ic is 95% charged. however, when the system switch to use this battery, the system received that battery status is around 50% charged and caused the system to stop running. do you know why we are receiving a false charge indication of the battery status? what can cause this failure mode? this is very critical that i need to get to the bottom of root cause failure. this chip is used in medical device and i need to answer field complaints.
