Switch between 2 DC Power Supply Sources

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22929D, TS5A3153, TPS2113

Hi,

I have 2 sources of Power supply S1 (can be 1.8, 3.3 or 5V) and S2 (always 3.3V). I plan to select voltage between the 2 sources as shown in the following circuit. Also C1 will have to be powered with S2 @ 3.3V only.

I think there are 2 problems to do it this way.

1. The U1 chip GPIO can only be 3.3V, so I not sure when the IN of the U1 chip is 1.8V or 5V, will the U1 chip function correctly. Will using the TPS22929D solve this issue?

2. The second is that the time it takes for U1 to switch off and U2 to switch on and vice versa, may cause short of power source at V1.

3. What diodes to use for D1 and D2

How to I address these issues?

Regards,

Vineet.
