A schottky diode replacement question on PMP4447

My question is regarding PMP4447

The BOM (http://www.ti.com/lit/df/tidrco3/tidrco3.pdf) defines the D4 as "MBRS3100, Diode,Schotty, 3A, 100V". Here is the data sheet of the diode.

The transformer's secondary side is rated as 12V, 0.5A. Would it cause any problem to replace MBRS3100 with "MBR2H200SFT1G" (datasheet) 200V, 2A which is smaller and cheaper?

Hi,
The "MBR2H200SFT1G" has a higher forward voltage drop than MBRS3100 . It would have higher power loss on this diode which may have chance to cause over heart to destory the diode.
You could try and to see whether the thermal rating is ok.

Thank you for the feedback. PMEG2010EH is 1A, 20V diode that has max 500mV forward voltage drop. Would you have any comment if any property of the component may cause problem?

The Reverse Stress of diode would exceed 20V a lot.
At least 100V is needed for this application.
