LP38851, LP38852 / themal shutdown tempreture

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP38851, LP38852

Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask about LP38851 and LP38852?

<Question>

How much is the MAX and Min value of thermal shutdown temperature?
We understand the datasheet shows(defines) only typical value.
Furthermore, we can also understand that MIN/MAX values can not be guaranteed.
So, if you can guess the tolerance from the viewpoint of design, could you let us know these?

 Kind regards,
Nagai

  • Thermal Shutdown is provided as a safety feature only.

    Operating at Thermal Shutdown indicates that both the specified Operating Ratings Junction Temperature specification (125°C) has been violated, and the ABS MAX Junction Temperature specification (150°C) has been violated.

    Operation with a junction temperature (Tj) above 125°C is not recommended as the device behavior is not ensured. The Typical Value is provided for reference purposes only.

    Best guess from the available information is that Tsd may vary by +/-5°C.
