Cross a N-FET from other manufacturer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD18502KCS

Hi everyone,

I really want to change some parts ( 2N7002P MOSFET N-CH 60V 0.36A, IRLB8743PbF MOSFET N-CH 30V 78A) to Texas Instruments PN.

Because I dont know which parameters will be kept or changed when I cross.

Plz support to me to do this.

  • For the 2N7002, unfortunately we do not have a good 60V cross at this time.

For the IR FET, we do have 40V FETs in a TO-220 package. Our closest matches would be the CSD18502KCS (slightly better Rdson) and the CDS18503KCS (slightly worse Rdson).
  • Can you give me the way to cross a FET product?
  • The first question is whether you care about package, i.e. whether or not the FET needs to be footprint compatible. If it doesn't, the next most important consideration is breakdown voltage.

After matching breakdown voltage, then you want to match on resistance.

For high performance FETs, as a general rule we would consider anything within +/- 20% the same Rdson a good match.

For load switches like the 2N7002 however, resistance probably doesnt matter as much, so your probably just looking for something that is in the <100mOhm range. Maybe even <1Ohm. The higher the resistance, the smaller the die and the cheaper the FET (again, as a very general rule).
