3s NiMH charger device

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24400, BQ24401

Our customer would like to use NiMH charger device in the below condition.

Vin:5V (They are planning to use wireless receiver bq5013B.)
Battery: NiMH 3s
charging current: 500mA to 700mA
System load current: max 100mA
Can bq24400 or bq24401 support this use condition? Which device do you recommend?

Kohei Sasaki

  • Hi all,

    Could anyone give comment?
I'd like to know whether it is possible to charge 3s NiMH from 5V input with bq24400 or bq24401.
In datasheet P.11 Figure 8, input voltage is 9V to 16V for 3 cell NiMH.
