TL5001 how to use the buck with over current protection on the load current? or constant current output battery charger?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL5001

Hello, I'd like to use the pdip TL5001 buck converter with over current protection on load current.  But how?  Another design to create the constant current source for a lead acid charger with max Vout limit. Also a design to power a 3.5V motor at 8Amp from 30Vin using over current protection. Motor does not need to be connected to 0V and can have low side current sense resistor.  Thank you.

  • I see this is your first post...Welcome to the forums. TL5001 is over 20 years old, it is low frequency (100 kHz was quite the norm at the time), and the OCP is just latching at no specific current value. When COMP gets too high it starts a timer and latches off at the end of the time, current will be whatever it is. I'm sure there are much more modern devices that would better suit your needs. If you post in a new separate thread for each application with your detailed design requirements, I'm sure we can guide you to the best suited devices.
