LM5175, 50A output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5175EVM-HP

Hi,

I have LM5175EVM-HP demo board. It has 12V @ 10A output and 6-36V input.

I'm trying to evaluate whether is it possible to use this controller for the following scenario:

  • Input 2-4V
  • Output 2-4V (output voltage is adjustable)
  • Input or Output is limited to 50A, whichever is lower

Some of the changes that I tried to make to  LM5175EVM-HP demo board:

  • change output mosfets to PSMN1R1-25YLC,115
  • changed (average current limiting shunt ) R1 to 1mOhm
  • changed (cycle by cycle limiting shunt ) R7 to 1mOhm
  • changed inductor to PQ2613-1R0-80-G (1uH, 110A sat).
  • added power to Vbias pin to make IC run at lower input voltages
  • connected EN pin to Vbias to it to make IC run at lower input voltages
  • changed FB voltage divider for lower output voltage

Could someone help me helping to make this controller operate in specified range.

I was able to run it in buck mode up-to 50A output. But when it operates in boost or buck-boost, I couldn't get more than 3-10Amps, depending on in/out voltages.

Thanks
