Hi,
Can LP8553 be used as 3 channel LED driver?
Could you let me know how to use LP8553 as 3 channel LED driver, please?
35mA is needed per 1ch.
Best regards,
Shimizu

Hello Shimizu,
Yes you can connect OUT1 + OUT4 together, then OUT2 + OUT5 together, and OUT3 + OUT6 together. By connecting this way the phase shifting works better than just tying up adjacent LED outputs.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hi Shimizu,
Yes, you are correct. My bad, I was thinking LP8552.
Anyway for 3 channel operation they should use LP8552 instead and connect it the way I described earlier. If they use LP8553 and leave one string floating, it will cause LED fault. Also the phase shifting is not optimal in this case since the phase difference between channels is 90deg (for 3-channel it should be 120deg).
Thanks.
