TPS22953 vs TPS22954

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22954, TPS22953, TPS2420, TPS2421-2

Hi,

Can someone tell me the difference between TPS22954 and TPS22953? Also, does TI have any current limiting load switches with Power Good feature?

Thanks!

  • Hi Rohit,

The TPS22954 has quick output discharge (QOD), which discharges the output of the switch when the device is turned off.  The TPS22953 does not have this QOD feature, but it has reverse current blocking when turned off.  Please refer to the block diagram in the datasheet for a pictorial representation of this.

The eFuse portfolio may be closer to what you are looking for.  These device come with current limiting as well as power good and other protection features.  The TPS2420 is a 3V to 20V load switch with a 5A current max and adjustable current limit.  Is this device closer to what you are looking for?

    Thanks,

    Alek Kaknevicius

  • eFUSE portfolio is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

TPS2420 and TPS2421-2 are the parts that closest match my requirements. I might go for TPS2421-2.
