I'm reviewing TI doc TSLVU374 TPS54060EVM-590 100-mA, Split Rail SWIFT™ Regulator Evaluation Module, and maybe I'm missing something. On page 10 referring to Figure 12. TPS54060EVM-590 Schematic the inductor is pictures with the IND coils wired with the dots facing each other. Similarly figure11 on page 9 also shows what I believe to be on coil of the IND connected to ground on both ends.

Now figure 63 page38 of The data sheet for the TPS54060 shows the inductor connected in what I believe to be the correct orientation, this is also reflected in SLVA369A.pdf.

So how does the cct in TSLVU374 TPS54060EVM-590 100-mA, Split Rail SWIFT™ Regulator Evaluation Module even work? (assuming I haven't misunderstood something)



  • I verified that the schematic, pcb layout and coilcraft inductor footprint all agree with each other. Also the schematic of schematic of figure 64 (not 63) agree as well. Dot side of one coil to SW node, non dot to GND. Dot side of other coil to GND, non dot side to anode of positive output catch diode.
