Hi All,
We have been using the above mentioned isolated DC DC converter as a floating power supply to ensure switching of high side MOSFET for motor driving applications (using three DC DC converters for the 3 phase motors). However recently we have been facing quality issues with the above mentioned product and during runs it gives off excessive high voltages, excessive low voltages and start drawing high than expected current from the Vcc. When we go through examination, it was found certain section of the IC had delamination issues, and burnt marks were found.
Our schematic for the portion is connecting a 0.1uF between pin 1 and 2 of the IC, and 2K resistor with 0.1uF capacitor between pin 5 and 6 of the said IC. The voltage feedback from the motor phase is connected with pin 5 while the output higher voltage to switch on the high side MOSFET is connected to pin 6. The ground is at pin 2 and a +15V power supply is at pin 1.
Please provide comments on the connections for the said design. Is there any suggested design improvement for the above with the above chip? Is there any replacement chip with a higher level of reliability to replace the chip for our applications?
