Datasheet Recommendation TPS65530

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65530

Hi,

I'm currently working on getting an old voltage regulator chip from TI to work. The TPS65530 is an 8-channel DC/DC Converter and thus quite crowded. I have not been able to find a reference design that I can work from.

The datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps65530.pdf) mentions that the "... external resistors should be connected as close as possible to the terminal." However, this is not what I see in other newer multi-channel converter designs. Typically, in order to reduce noise you want inductors and capacitors in the hot loops close to the chip, and the feedback resistors are brought out to a quiet area away from the inductors.

So, would you recommend me to follow the data-sheets recommendations, or follow my own gut?
