Hello,
I want to use the LM26003 for a design with a GSM / GPRS modem. The application is suitable? peak current required to 30mA to 3A PWM / fPWM function will be a problem? I do not know if fPWM switching PWM mode to be fast enough for a transmission peak.
the "sleep mode", the "PWM / fPWM" function and the "CCM / DCM" function is the same? What is the difference?
The manufacturer of GSM / GPRS modem advises: "Power supply quality
PFM, or PSM systems Should be avoided; Low ripple, linear regulation or PWM converters are preferred for low noise. "
I'm also considering LMZ13608, LMZ14203 and LMR14050 but I'm not sure that's the right application.
Efficiency is important but necessary to 50mA peaks up to 3A and low ripple and noise.

    Hi Sergio,
    Because the LM26003 is a non synchronous device it doesn't have what I would call a true Forced PWM operation as the inductor current can never go negative because of the external catch diode. The FPWM mode on the 26003 basically disables the Sleep Mode operation. Can I propose that you look at the LM53603 which is a fully synchronous 2.1MHz switcher which gives you the opportunity to enable FPWM externally and also has very good load transient response. Note that the L and the C will also play a factor in the load transient response. If you need more information or bench data with your load step conditions let me know. Feel free to also order EVMs to see what best suits your needs.

    I very much like the proposed chip. We will evaluate purchasing the EVM.
    Surely addition to the GSM modem I must also supply a XBee modem. I need to provide in this instance up to 5A peak. Can you propose a similar chip? I looked at the LMR14050, TPS54540, TPS54561 and TPS54560. But I can not force the pin Fpwm. What do you advise me?
