Learning cycle for bq27010

Hello Joseph,

When connecting a new battery,  an assumption on the state of the cell must be made, if it's aged or brand new. You can initialize the LMD, NAC, Design Capacity values on the gauge to that of your new battery based on the battery's specs. The bq27010 allows the user to initialize in RAM these values for testing. Please see below for the relevant commands:

so when i put new battery i have to load the AR registers to the LMD and NAC.Once the CI flag cleared after that i have to use ILMD value programmed in the EEPROM .am i right?

I programmed the EEPROM coefficients as below

IMLD = 0x0B;
EDVF = 0x77;
EDV1 = 0x90;

Now i read the LMD value  shows 0xb00
and NAC is 0x00;

Due to the above condition(NAC =0x00 & LMD = 0xb00) the BQ27010  RSOC register always shows 0 %

so when i put new battery it shows the charge is 0%

I also write AR register with discharging current 35 mA(0x2F)

but the RSOC shows 0% only

I need ur help[ immediately to resolve this issue.

For a new battery we don't know  the NAC value then, what value i have to write on the NAC register?

Also one more doubt how to access the RAM register ?

i wrote some register like below

For example for NAC

After reading the NAC_hi and NAC_low value shows 0x00 only.

is that Ok? or anyother procedure?

By doing NAC= LMD ,at first the charge level shows 100%..then it decreases one by one .....if the battery have more charge then stays for long time....if it is low then suddenly it just jump to 6.25%.

I tested once at start it showing 100% after some 30 mins it shows 73% after one hour it shows 50% after some time suddenly it shows 7%.

so this is the only way to do?

if suppose i am putting charge means what happens?already NAC= LMD ?
