PTH05020W failures under full load

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PTH05020W

Hi,

My application uses PTH05020W  to regulate from 5Vin to 1.2V out.  This rail powers an FPGA core voltage.  Our boards are failing under full load.  We believe the issue has to do with the step load. The FPGA core rail is spec'd at +1.2V +/- 60mV.  TI's PTH05020W has a Typical 120mV overshoot/undershoot spec with a 1A/1us load step.  Current draw on the 1.2V rails is 20A.

Is there anything that could be done to improve transient response?  Any other suggestions on how to improve regulation under step load?

In advance, thank you.
