It actually does connect to the Drain of the FET and to pin 3 of the transformer and pin 2 (anode) of D902 in the layout and PCB files...not ideal and not as it seems to have been intended in the schematic (where HV pin 8 is connected to the cathode of D902 and pin 1 of the transformer).
My guess is that the pcb was corrected on the bench (cut a trace, add a jumper) and the actual board files were not updated and corrected before going on the web.
HV should be connected to the high voltage bulk rail input as shown in the schematic, not as shown in the layout.
