Hi everybody,
I'm using the TPS2421-1 on a design, and it don't work as I expect.
From the datasheet : "When load current exceeds ISET during normal operation the fault timer starts. If load current drops below ISET before the fault timer expires, normal operation continues. If load current stays above the ISET threshold the fault timer expires and a fault is declared."
In my case, the TPS2421-1 is on the power line of a Hbridge + DC motor, I don't use PWM, just turn ON or OFF the motor.
When I power up the device, the TPS2121-1 is ON, and after I turn ON the Motor. When I turn ON the motor, the TPS2421 goes to default state and turn off.
Here the design :
As you can see, the fault current is set at 3A, and fault time is 40 ms.
Here the scope screenshot :
At motor startup, I have a current insrush of 5A, so the fault timer start : OK, but after 1ms, the current is average of 1.2A. So why the fault timer don't stop ???
best regards,
thierry
