TPS61222 output voltage drop

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61222

Hello,

I am  using the TPS61222 to have a fixed 5V output with output current at 60mA. I followed the exact schematic on pg13 of the datasheet and my final project will be powered by a coin cell battery at 3V.  For the testing I am using a variable DC voltage generator. I will be using the TPS61222 to power up an RFID reader which consumes 60mA when it scans for tag.

Without the load charge, the circuit produces well 5V +/- 0.2V and the I input is about 10mA. However at a charge of 100ohm, the voltage drops to about 2.7V and the I input current consumption is about 25mA.I tested with another charge of 1Kohms and the voltage drops to 3.9V.

According to the datasheet, the Iout max is about 170mA cf Figure 1 of the datasheet. I do not understand why this drop in the voltage is occurring. Can someone help me out here please?

My capacitors values are 10uF both and the inductor is 10uH.
I am doing the prototype on a breadboard and I soldered the TPS61222 on a DIP adaptor.

Thank you for you attention and help.
