What is the meaning of "CEP time out" ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51020, BQ500511, BQ50002

I can see the "CEP time out" message when I am having test with AVID tool (Qi sniffer) as attached. Is there any reason for this error message?

RX: BQ51020

TX: AVID FOD TX tool or BQ50002+BQ500511

load: 6V/ 1A (system power source)

it works good when load is electronic load. (6V/1.2A)

  • Hi Mason
This is Control Error Packet (CEP) which is a packet sent by the RX for regulation of operating point. CEP are sent every 250mS and if one is not received in this time a CEP Timeout is declared by the AVID tools. The packet was sent by RX and not decoded by the TX, this can be caused by a number of reasons. System does not expect to decode all packets successfully and some CEP timeouts will be seen.
