design of dc-dc isolated power supply

Good after noon sir ,

    I wand to design a dc-dc power supply with 18-32v dc input and nominal voltage is 28v  and outpput is 5v ,20a with 50mv ripple and 100 pk-pk ripple plz suggest me to start it which topology can i take and switching our ic and complete schematic ...thank you sir

    The best place to start is usually to search the database of available TI-Designs:

    Click on the "search power reference design parameters" button. Then you can search by input voltage range, output voltage, output current, AC or DC inputs, isolated or non-isolated output.

    I searched for 18-32 V input range and 5-V output, the closest match is PMP5117:

    This is an active-clamp forward design using UCC2897A, and is rated for 18-36 V input, output 5 V @ 15 A. It could be redesigned for 20 A output current.

    There are also 2 other designs PMP8366 & PMP5364 for output 5 V @ 20 A, but the input range of these is 36-72 V:

    They are also active-clamp forward converters, also using UCC2897A.

    By combining the output section of these 20-A designs, it should be possible to modify PMP5117 for 20 A output.


    TI offers many different control IC's for current-mode and voltage-mode active-clamp forward, including UCC2897A, LM5026, LM5025/A/B/C/D, UCC2891/2/3/4, LM5027A & LM5034
