LP5900 - "7.4.1 Operation with Enable Control"

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5900

Hello,
I have a question about LP5900.

SNVS358R describes as follows.

"7.4.1 Operation with Enable Control" in the page-11.
"However,
if the application does not require the shutdown feature, the EN pin can be tied to IN pin to keep the regulator
output permanently on. In this case the supply voltage must be fully established 500μs or less to ensure correct
operation of the start-up circuit."

I need the shutdown function.
IN-pin and the EN-pin are the different control.

In this case does the IN-pin voltage have to be settled within 500us?

Regards,
Dice-K

  • For LP5900, the expectation for power-up when the EN pin not connected directly to the IN pin is that the input voltage (Vin) is established (Vin >=2.5V) before the EN pin voltage is taken high. In this case the 500us rise time limitation does not apply to Vin.

The EN pin voltage must transition from the low (OFF <= 0.4V) threshold voltage to some voltage no less than the high (ON >= 1.2V) threshold with a Ven rise time of no more than 500us (0.5ms)
