TPS40193 - Active High Enable

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40193, TPS40192

Hello,

I need support regarding TPS40193, the reference schematic suggest a transistor to be connected to connect to EN pin. This is a active high pin, now in the configuration shown in the schematic it is actually active low.

I want to use it as active high...How to do it?

  • The TPS40192/3/5 enable pin is active high with an internal pull-up (1.5MOhm) to VDD.

The EN pin has an internal clamp of approximately 2V when the IC is enabled and needs a minimum 1uA of current to remain active.

The EN pin can be driven active-high with an external open-collector or open-drain device using the internal pull-up or an external pull-up resistor that will source less than 500uA of current into the EN pin when it is clamped at 2V.

The EN pin can be driven actve-high by an active drive signal as long as the current into the EN pin remains less than 500uA when the EN pin is clamped to 2V.  If the external drive can source more than 500uA of current into a 2V clamped load, the EN pin should include a series resistor to limit the current to less than 500uA while allowing the EN pin to be pulled below 600mV with an internal 1Meg (minimum value) pull-up to VDDmax
